Screen printing is the most common and most cost-effective way to print T-shirts in larger quantities. At KiM Print we use it every day for corporate promotional T-shirts, sports club kits, event uniforms, festivals, charity causes and band merch. The result is a vivid, dense and durable print that keeps its look after dozens of washes.
How screen printing works
In screen printing a separate screen is made for each colour of the design – a fine mesh stretched on a frame, through which the ink passes only where the image should be. The ink is applied with a squeegee directly onto the T-shirt and then cured at a high temperature so it bonds permanently with the fibres. This is why screen printing is best suited to logos, lettering and designs with clearly defined colours.
Our print shop has automatic computerised screen printing machines by Anatol (USA) and Schenk (Germany). Automation guarantees the same quality for the first and the thousandth T-shirt, accurate colour matching and short lead times even for large runs.
Advantages of screen printing
- The lowest price per piece for medium and large runs – the more T-shirts, the better the price.
- Bright, dense colours, including on black and dark T-shirts.
- High resistance to washing, abrasion and sunlight.
- Special effects are possible – metallic, fluorescent and stretch inks.
- Accurate matching of your brand’s corporate colours.
What it is suitable for
Screen printing is the right choice when you need identical T-shirts in larger quantities – for staff, an advertising campaign, a sports event, a marathon, a conference or a team building. It is suitable for T-shirts, sweatshirts, long-sleeve tops, polo shirts, bags and workwear. If your design is photographic or contains many shades and the quantity is small, a better option may be direct-to-garment printing (DTG), and for polyester sports kits – sublimation printing.
Minimum quantity, prices and lead times
The minimum quantity for screen printing is 20 pieces. The price depends on the number of T-shirts, the number of colours in the design, the print size and the number of print positions (for example back, chest and sleeve). Our standard lead time is 1 to 5 working days after the design is approved. For urgent orders we will find a solution – just ask us.
T-shirts from our own import
You don’t need to source T-shirts separately. We import Roly, SOL’S, Stanley/Stella and Fruit of the Loom T-shirts and clothing, with stock in our Sofia warehouse – from basic cotton T-shirts to organic cotton, polo shirts and sweatshirts. You can see the models in the section Own import of T-shirts. We also print on T-shirts you provide.
How to order
- Send us your logo or design (preferably in vector format – AI, EPS, PDF or SVG) and the quantity you need.
- We prepare a quote and a mock-up of the T-shirt with your print. If needed, our designer will prepare the print file.
- Once you approve, we make the screens and print your order.
- You collect the T-shirts at our office in Sofia or receive them by courier anywhere in Bulgaria.
